November - BIG DECISION TIME!! [ 2009-10-28 06:51:59 ]
Do i stay with T.M or move to Husaberg with Midwest . Not an easy one to make, as we'd built up such a relationship with the team. Ahhh! Lets go for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
October ISDE Portugal [ 2009-10-28 06:31:52 ]
Didn't have a great week as i cooked the bike on day 1. She nipped up on Day 2 and lost all compression. This meant a piston and barrell change on a check within an hour time limit. I did it in 30 mins but this moved me to the back of the trophy teams with no chance of making the time back. I still finished the event and scored points for the team. Came home with a Silver but satisfied i'd done everything for the team G.B
September 26/27 Natterjack BEC [ 2009-10-28 06:24:46 ]
Well!... All i had to do was finish and beat my T.M team mate Gordy on one day.
1st day didn't work as they put a wall in the test and I, along with many others, couldn't get up to it
:(
Day 2
and the wall was taken out. Gordy had a couple of 'offs' and i took the British E3 Title
:)
August - 22nd Welsh ISDE Training Day [ 2009-08-28 05:16:33 ]
Decided to go up to Wales early and train with the Welsh squad before the Elite Sprint on Sunday at Rhyader. Had the biggest off to date, busted up the bike, had massive concussion, woke up Sunday PM, don't remember much. So ended up watching the Elite Sprint instead
:(
August - 15th/16th Slovakia UEM [ 2009-08-28 05:13:13 ]
Mammoth drive for two days, couldn't believe the area was so third world! Weekend started bad with U23 mate Brad King breaking two virtibrae in Fridays practice session. Friday night briefing we were told not to follow any instructions in the woods etc by persons unless they were wearing an offical UEM jacket, as you will be robbed and maybe even raped!! They were not wrong either. People everywhere, some with no shoes on! Arrows missing everywhere. Me and Ashley Wood got lost, they scrapped the check at the end, but by now
all our tests went to shit as we were 3 quaters of an hour behind other riders who were alot slower than us. Finished 16th.
Day 2 was a better day as they brought out the armed guards!! Had good tests, finished 8th , my best result so far
:)
August - 9th Idless South West Round [ 2009-08-28 05:07:00 ]
On a high from Dyfi and wanted to do well at the local. Phil lead for a bit but knee was still hurting from an accident in Dyfi. Battled him up until the pit stop and then he retired. I spent the rest of the race keeping my distance from Dustow, the series leader. Finished 1st by a couple of minutes. Great track, chuffed with ride as it was on Phils 450 big bang!
:)
August - 1st/2nd 3rd BEC Dyfi [ 2009-08-28 05:04:38 ]
Day 1
- still pissing razor blades, had awful urine infection, but number 1 plate ment i had to push on. Lost a minute on the tight check but my times on the test were awesome, finished 13th overall, 2nd E3.
Day 2 - Felt better after swapping antibiotics over night, brilliant day, stayed clean on going with great test times. Finished 9th overall, 1st E3 ... my best result in BEC yet!
:)
July - 19th Pendennis 4 hour H & H [ 2009-08-28 05:01:17 ]
Iron man or Two man team? Late entry so decided to go it alone. Tight track and very physical, rain made it hellish slippery. Won iron man by 5 laps!!!!!
:)
July - 11th/12th 2nd BEC Knighton [ 2009-08-28 04:55:59 ]
Good week before, training in Wales with Phil and Ashley Wood. The grassy practising proved invaluable. Stayed clean on the going, finished 12th on day one and 11th on day two, but took the E3 win on both days!
:)
June - 28th Motox Truro [ 2009-08-28 04:53:29 ]
Decided Saturday night after riding home from the Welsh that i wanted to ride the motox. Frantic clean up of bikes and kit. Off we went sunday. Three races, finished 3rd overall
:)
June - 25th/26th Welsh Two Day [ 2009-08-28 04:51:58 ]
Looking forward to it as it was a Six Days selection round, so got stuck in with some good test times on both days. Lost one minute on tight check but finished 2nd E3.
June - 21st ORE Exmoor [ 2009-08-28 04:49:59 ]
Rode Phils 450, loved it!
. Lead from start, rode last hour with no gear change, stuck in tree somewhere! Bike struggled in 4th gear, don't think clutch was too pleased, don't think Phil will be either !!
Stayed in front and took the win!
:)
May - 30th/31st Hungary [ 2009-08-28 04:48:26 ]
Day 1 - Finished 15th, couldn't get my head around the tests, so dusty and fast compared to France. Should have pushed more aggresivley. Matt had a big off on the going.
Day 2 - Hit track more aggresivley, things came together better for me as it rained which suited me! Finished 8th, best result so far!
:)
April - 11th/12th French UEM [ 2009-08-28 04:45:57 ]
Bloody hard, should see pics on Enduro News, Click on events. Rain, snow, mud, but had a good ride day
1 finishing 13th, not such a good day 2, chain derailed and plus i hit and killed a fox! Just pleased to finish a very tough event.
April - 5th GBXC [ 2009-08-28 04:43:28 ]
Wasn't comfortable for the track. Too fast, too dusty, Didn't want to hurt myself for France UEM. Finished 14th.
Feb - 22nd First BEC Muntjac [ 2009-08-28 04:41:59 ]
Cold as usual, hard packed test. Had fairly good test times but dropped one minute on tight check. Finished 18th overall, 2nd E3 to Knighter.
Feb - 1st Fast Eddy Wales [ 2009-08-28 04:39:39 ]
Good track, good turn out, Phil McLaughlin my TM team mate and sisters boyfriend who's now living with us, had a good start and battled with Matt Ridgway as i had a poor start and struggled from the back. Phil done a rad and i
pushed up through the feild to 2nd place
finishing behind Matt.
Jan - 10th/11th REME 2 Man Team [ 2009-08-28 04:35:20 ]
Cold but great event, rode with Brad King as no TM riders were avaliable, lead from start came fourth at the end. Good weekend with Dustys physical training day before. Wont be joining the army though!!
:)
International Six Day Enduro - Serres - Greece- September 1st - 6th [ 2008-09-16 03:00:32 ]
There wouldnt be enough space on the site to explain or describe my emotions or experience. 50 degrees hot & dusty !
A week of test walking and bike prep. The opening ceremony with 35 other countries. The team spirit.
In short, i started day 1 with great test times and kept them up all week. My mistake, a chain derailment on Day 2 costing me 8 mins. This put me to the back of the pack, which was over 150 places, for the start of day 3 and it was a battle of slower riders on tests and dust for the rest of the week. I climbed back up to finish the event with a silver medal which for my first ISDE was awesome. There are so many people i need to thank for sponsorship and help to get me over there so if i miss anyone i am sorry.

BEC Crychan 9 & 10th August [ 2008-09-16 01:43:42 ]
Another trip to Wales but no points.
After a week of getting bits ready for ISDE, we decided to save a piston change, but the old girl was too tired. Seized solid day one - weekend over .
Idless woods 27th July [ 2008-09-16 01:36:47 ]
Looking foward to a local event and it was a good one. Not a great start for the 3 hour race but picked my way to 3rd place behind Fraser and Lewis. After 1st pit stop we were all close together, then Fraser and Lewis collided allowing me to overtake Lewis who was straightening his front disc. Kept Lewis off for a lap afterwhich his dodgy brake forced his retirement.
Finished a couple of mins down on Fraser in second
World Enduro Wales 19 & 20th July [ 2008-09-16 01:26:53 ]
Day 1 didnt go well for me, i managed all the tests including the extreme one ok, but couldnt get it together on the going
D.N.F
Day 2 was better with good test time and clean on time, first world round so big learning curve !
Welsh Two Day June 26 & 27th [ 2008-09-16 01:11:00 ]
Well what a wet one! Rained non stop which made a very hard and slippery event.
Day 1.
Stayed clean on time but test times wern't fantastic. Just glad to have
finished and try to dry out for tomorrow.
Day 2.
Had better test times, but threw a chain damaging
the clutch slave. Determined to finish,
Tiley pushed me to the work area and i changed all the bits over.
Lost 40 minutes by the end of the day but glad to say i completed the hardest
welsh they have had for many years.
Nancemelon June 1st [ 2008-09-16 00:52:00 ]
Looking foward to this one to push myself against Fraser and Lewis . I kept with them and swopped places for first 1 and a half hours, started to get tired and watched them both pull away, finished a comfortable third, but need to get fitter if im to be able to keep up with their pace.
Pendennis Moto-x 30th March [ 2008-04-03 01:26:57 ]
Rained all week , thought it might have been cancelled, but .. as Sunday morning came , the weather broke and it was a nice sunny day.
Because of the rain the track was very slippery and technical which changed each race.
Had a 2nd , 3rd and 4th place during the day, but as my friend and neighbour, Jason Fraser , had problems in the last race my consistancy paid off and i took the over all win !
:)
Hard to get back into moto-x as i havent ridden one for months but enjoyed every minute of it !
Lossiemouth Scotland - 22 & 23rd March [ 2008-04-03 01:22:21 ]
Round 2 of the Brithish Enduro Championship and after a 700 mile nightmare journey we arrived at the coastal town.
Day 1 ..
With the threat of snow all day and freezing temp's , i had a really good ride. The best so far !. The going was tight on time but i managed to stay clean when a lot of other championship riders didnt
Day 2 ..
Still with the threat of frost bite in my hands, riding time was reduced from 8 hours on Sat to 6 hours today.
Going was very tight on 1 check, but again stayed clean.
Better test times today and i finished 12 overall the two days
.
Bike was awesome , everything went well. Chuffed with the ride , Then the 700 mile trip home !!
:(
Radnor 4 Hour 2 Man Team In Wales Sun 9th March. [ 2008-03-17 21:02:04 ]
Awesome event. I Went away first out of me and tim, my TM UK team mate, and had a good start, passing my transponder over after the first hour's riding to Tim whilst holding a close 2nd Place, Tim kept third off for his hour and i went into my last stint with approx 2 min lead. Track cut up horribly and looked like something from a war film in Croatia with stumps and bits of tree's that we had to tread through. Passed my transponder back to Tim for his last stint and we finished second which was great
:)
Beat the Welsh boys on their soil !!
march 1st ORE Exmoor [ 2008-03-04 19:25:43 ]
Decided to get some serious riding in before next British Round, so i entered an ORE event.
Good to see Brad King there.
We had a hard but fun ride. I took the win with Brad in second. Practising and tweeking tomorrow ( sunday ) with Doctor Butcher.! .....
:)
British Enduro Championship Round 1 24th Feb [ 2008-02-29 04:54:19 ]
Muntjack Enduro in Norfolk , was awesome. Weather was good, foot was sore but i was determined to score some points. Had 2 good test
s at beginning of day and stayed on time until the last lap, lying in 4th place E2.
I knew i was going to struggle going into the last lap and it beat the shit out of me. Ended up dropping a minute, this put me back to ninth place, but i came away with 7 points, which i may be glad of later in the year.
Foot
s like a melon but hay ho !
looking foward to two man team in wales with team mate, Tim Lewis, in a couple of week

News [ 2008-02-29 04:51:42 ]
Hi.. had a good rest over the winter and looking foward to my challenging year in the championship class.
Pleased to have another season with T.M. UK and what a bike it is this year with the alloy frame.
Started off the season in Jan with tonsolitis, lost over a stone, so that wasn't good, then first event in Dorset manages to break my foot.
:(
Thought maybe of taking up fishing but after watching the G.B Hare Scramble in Matchams was keen to get back on it.
I then decided to ride 1st British Enduro Championship against doctors orders.
:)
Natterjack [ 2007-10-03 04:34:12 ]
Day 1 went well, with a strategy of just keeping myself upright. Not pushing to hard, no mistakes. I managed to pull a few seconds per test on my rivals in the championship which earned me a few more points at the top.
Day 2 didnt really do anything different, just rode with my head and again managed to beat the couple of guys that threatened my championship standing.
Finished, counted up points and confirmed that i have won the British Enduro championship not only E2 Expert but overall!!
:)
I am chuffed to bits with my success this year after all the hard work and travelling and please for all the people who have helped and supported me.

Camborne/ Redruth [ 2007-09-23 02:47:03 ]
2 man team event for 4 hours was great fun and very competitive. I rode with my T.M UK team mate Tim Lewis and we had a bumpy but awesome day, finishing 1st to some other good paired riders.
:)
Having only rode down there a few months ago and knowing how rough it is, i was chuffed with the bike and the suspension was great ( thanks dave ).
Weekend of testing and setting up now ready for the Natterjack !
Poland [ 2007-09-17 19:23:26 ]
Un-fortunatly due to work commitments and the fact that when i would arrive back, i would only have 2 days to get the bike ready for Natterjack, i have decided not to ride in Poland for the last European round. I need to do well in the Natterjack as it is the last British Championship round of which i am leading at present. I have a small cushion of points but need my bike and myself both physically and mentally to be ready.
Got some serious sand practising on the go and feel confident i'll take the overall win.
Rhyader [ 2007-09-17 19:14:28 ]
Day 1. Usual crap first test, which gave me a 9th overall but managed to claw back to 5th after the second test :) . Had good going times, felt confident bike was awesome.
Day 2. Knew with the point standings i had to go well today, had a good first test, with the top three contenders in the expert class this year, all within a second.
Kept clean on the going and psyched myself for the last test. I gave it all i had and scared myself on occasions but it was well worth it when i put in a time that was 8 seconds faster than second place this gave me an overall win on day 2. :)
ASW [ 2007-08-29 04:17:42 ]
After making the long trip back from Finland, decided late in the week to ride a fun event. This it was with
two 1 hour stints, le-mans style starts, long and short routes and being paired with a youth rider. Won both races and won the paired group with my youth partner Sam Coles, brilliant day good on ASW something different..
Drove home and went training with Dave Butcher and team mate Tim Lewis all day bank holiday monday
awesome!
Finland [ 2007-08-29 04:15:09 ]
After finishing in Crychan on sunday i had a quick trip to cardiff to stay at Greg Evans, washed bikes and started to get ready for Finland.
Monday - finished off bikes and started our trip and in the evening, arrived in Finland on the Thursday morning and went straight into walking the tests.
Mx tests was awesome and fast but the XC test was rocky and very technical.
Day 1. Had a failry good day, bit of something different, especially the XC test, not like wales where you take your brain out on the fire roads, here they have speed limits. Still finished 13th E2 chuffed ! :)
day.2 Didnt improve on 13th but happy with my highest placings so far in the Europeans, T.M was awesome!
Crychan [ 2007-08-21 02:20:12 ]
Day 1. Felt good going into the event but optimistic as we
werent allowed to walk the test.
Having rode the test untimed on the first lap i was struggling to find a good pace or a flow to it. Also found not having any idea of my test times meant i didnt know how well i was going or not.
In my case i was not. :( Finished 7th overall and fourth in E2.
Day 2.
Still trying to work out how to ride the test, Mc connells advise was to try riding it faster and scare yourself !!!!
I tryed a few things different i managed a 6th overall, 2nd in the E2.
Still not completley happy :( but
think it just wasnt my test.
Pleased to
have cleaned the tight checks. Well done to Gordo and the rest of the team. Head up for Rhyader !! :)
Tywi [ 2007-08-01 19:37:00 ]
Sat..
Had good first test which is unusual for me and that put me in the right frame of mind for the hard going everyone was talking about the previous evening.
First tight check no problems :), second tight check, thought a bit more steam than usual blew over my face. After 20 mins she wasnt sounding to good downstairs. :(
but
i nursed the baby to the end of the check hoping she would take drink and on we'd go :)
Just made the check, but that was her lot :(:( found i had ripped a hose off... with a bit of TLC she was ready for sunday :)
Sun..
Determined to make up for Sat, i was going to let her have it.
That i did !!!.. i won the day overall and E2 :) thanks and well done to the rest of the team !
Hafren [ 2007-07-19 06:00:45 ]
First ride on the blue bullet and she was awesome! :) gave me 1st E2
and 3rd overall on day 1 , but knew i wasnt quite riding her right.
After a overnight paddock chat with Tim Lewis, Dave Butcher and Nick Craige, i knew what i had to do and didnt it pay off.
had a one second
lead before the last test and after a nasty RTA on the road ( sorry nick )
i managed to have the fastest last test
time in the expert class to give me the overall win :)
cant wait for Tywi! :)
News: [ 2007-07-19 05:59:27 ]
Oh shit ive eaten a blueberry!:)
Not really, had a go on a TM last week with Butcher and Lewis and loved it riding for them this week what a machine :)
Hungary [ 2007-07-06 01:19:22 ]
day 1. rear brake hose broke off, game over as it was so hot and dusty, you had a job to see the track . Big hilly tests, gutted :(
day2. after fitting new hose. i was determined to make up for yesterdays problems. Had good moto-x tests, but rear brake fade got me nervious on the Enduro tests.
Still all in all finished 17th, very please thanks to everyone who helped me over there.
Fired up for British rounds now.! :)
Welsh 2 Day [ 2007-07-01 19:39:07 ]
Had an awful week weatherwise ( ie Camping )
Day1. usual not so good first test, but kept clean on the going and good second test put mehigh up in the standings.
Day2. Good tests & kept clean on time; 14th E2, 19th overall which includes an entry of top championship class riders :) If it was a British round i would have won the expert class overall.
Please as punch :) Big panic on how to get home, bling the bike for Hungary on Monday
Pendennis - Idless [ 2007-06-12 21:19:15 ]
Crap start, pushed first hour , got to 6th and stayed there, good track, pleased with result against top champ boys :)
Best wishes to Neil Shinner speedy recovery!

Huge Cornish continguent travelled up, most finished, but again what a wet weekend. Can't believe bike didnt suck through more water than it did. She went like a dream, kept me clean on time and gave me 14 overall which includes the Championship
riders. Please with the result, not sure all the last test times were correct ???
Torrington Enduro [ 2007-05-17 01:39:38 ]
After a dusty sunday's remedies moto-x, it was unbelievable that we struggled to get around the same track for the enduro on Monday. The rain was hurendous, overnight and during the race, not many entries, so managed to win!
:)
Camborne/ Redruth [ 2007-05-06 05:56:06 ]
April 29th
Jason Frasers mishap with his tyre gave me the opportunity for a win, which i took. Hard as hell track with no let up.Quads were good in one sense as they flatten the track out abit on corners but a pain to get past- Ask Max ( UFC Middleweight Contender )

Excellent track and test again, by Tony the legend and crew. Had my usual crap first test but 2nd + 3rd gave me the 7th place overall.

Fast Eddy [ 2007-04-14 02:20:09 ]
One of the best Fast Eddy tracks so far, had a brilliant day. Shame they had to cut the bogg out! But then if i got stuck in there i'd be writing something different :) Good to see a large entry of so many familiar faces!

ITALY ...
the trip was a brilliant experience and very pleased with my 18th place on Saturday and 19th place on Sunday Junior E2 and E3 combined and Great Britain 3rd overall.
Massive thanks to Moyce family along with Frasers and Hodges Motorworks.
Fed up with Pizzas and 27 hour road trip's but enjoyed the whole thing now I'm home! :)
